Change in some physical characteristics of ultrasound pre-treated corn during hot-air convection and vacuum drying

The objective of this study was to investigate the effect ultrasound pre-treatment (50% US and 100% US-soaking), temperature (80, 90 100 ᵒC) dryer type (hot-air convection vacuum) on some physical characteristics such as hectoliter weight, thousand kernel dimensions (thickness, length, width, equivalent diameter sphericity) corn during drying. Before drying, samples were pre-treated without (conventional-soaking) with (40 kHz 200 W, 50 amplitude) 1 hour soaking. Pre-treated dried at 80, ᵒC in laboratory vacuum hot-air dryer. Moisture content, (length, thickness, sphericity), weight each analyzed for every 60 min 240 minutes drying processes. When research results analyzed, width values hot air found significantly different between 0-60 (P≤0.05), but insignificant (P>0.05) following periods.
